a lot easier to replace DT then QB
2 things Iowa. I know it's just conversation about choosing Goff over Donald or vice versa, but it does give me the chance to say something. So this is as much a response to Reggae as to you.
Thing one is, the 2 are not in conflict. It's not either/or on Goff or Donald. They can sign both, and a core of others too. I know the discussion was about Reggae saying they would rather do without Goff and keep Donald, but that was just part of a big conversation, i's not realistic. They can and will keep both, among others.
The other thing is, it is not easy and in fact impossible to replace Donald. Donald is not just a DT, he's an elite DT. He;s part of a very short list that includes players like Joe Greene, Olsen, Alan Page, Randy White, Sapp, Lilly...players of that caliber. Look it at this way. Has it been hard to find a qb? Well (IMO)...comparatively, no...all they had to do was make the decision that they had to trade up for one. Either way, since they last had an elite DT (Olsen) the Rams have had a few qbs---Gabriel, Hadl, Harris, Ferragamo, Everett, Green, Warner, Bulger, Bradford, and Goff. The only other elite DT they've had in that period (56 years) was Donald.
Anyway that's my 200 cents.
