I agree about reality. Then...it depends on which you think is the reality and which position is the overwrought emotion.
Donald can force a trade.
If it were me and I thought the team was going to hold me hostage to a bad rookie contract compounded with lowball tag numbers, that's what I would do. Is that emotion or intelligent self-interest based on reality? I think it's the latter.
Rams would face getting nothing for him.
Oh and a reminder. Donald is not the only player to enter into negotiations for an extension after year 3, which is a CBA guaranteed right for first rounders.
He is however the only one so far not to receive an extension.
At a certain point, there's a risk to the Rams looking bad. To their own players among others. It's bad business.
