I'm curious to know what the Rams' brain trust on this board thinks opposing OCs are planning against us. My feeling is that delays, underneath screens, and draws would float to the top because of the perception that we are now strong up front and in the secondary...your thoughts?
Not trying to be snarky Rincon but this is a question that can't be accurately guessed about or projected because we haven't seen how the new personnel will fit Wade's plan or how the new players give Wade more options to attack and become the Maestro like he was with the Broncos SB defense.
Almost every Rams fan will agree that the additions of Peters and Talib along with Suh will give Wade tons more flexibility to run his defense the way he wanted to when McVay initially asked him to come aboard.
If the Rams had mostly the same personnel that they did in 2017, we could make more of an educated guess about what plays to run against them like the Eagles, Falcons and a couple of the other teams did in 2017.
There were some weaknesses in the Rams defense last year and they were exploited more than a few teams in 2017.
This years Rams defense is going to be different (with better players at key positions) and I'm sure your question was probably implying to how would you attack the projected upgraded 2018 defense with the new personnel etc.
If I had to guess, I would say run the football to set up the pass or attack the edge rushers with bubble screens and all the other obvious plays that work well against a team with unproven edge rushers in a Wade style of the 3-4 defense.
Make the Rams prove that Barron, Littleton, Ebukam, Ramik Wilson, Fox Morgan, Okoronkwo, or whoever makes the cut and earns his way in the staring rotation prove that they they can be a factor in the run defense and all the pass defense responsibilities needed to make Wade's defense work the way he ultimately visions.
I do trust Wade and I'm fairly confident that he will put all of the pieces in the right places and make this one of the top 5 or 7 elite defenses in the NFL this coming season.
