The linebacker play was the weak link on the defense last year. I suspect some of the issue was that the linebackers didn’t fit Wade’s scheme. Wade’s defenses have historically used lower round draft picks at linebacker so I’m not concerned that it appears to be a no name group. I love the Kansas City pickup. I suspect we are going to see much improvement from the linebackers. The team now has a superior line and secondary, a second season in this defense and has more players in all areas of the defense that fit the scheme. The Rams won a lot of games with inferior play at linebacker last year in a worst case scenario this years version at linebacker matches that performance, while the line and secondary are even better.
