from what we read of teams thinking's, the draft is all about potential and how a players talents translate to the NFL game. It seems many players who produce at the College level fail in the pro's, not enough heart, low football IQ, lacking in strength, athleticism or just unlucky injury. But for me this is where the Scouts probably overthink things and guys like Kiser and OO slip through. Sure their shorter than ideal, slower than desired and whatever else on the all pro metric look alike!! but some guys are just players and they will win at any level.
I remember a draft back in 1988, I wanted so many of those players. I wanted the Rams to trade up for Tim Brown or Sterling Sharp (and couldn't believe we took Gaston Green and Aaron Cox when Thurman Thomas and Randall McDaniel were available. To be fair I 've also wanted many a player who've turned in to duds). But the player I really wanted that year was a LB that was too short and a bit slow........... Chris Spielman. He just made plays and looked great in Detroit.
So here's hoping that Kiser and OO in the 5th to the Rams is due to scouts over analyzing it all and we've got two studs!
