or perhaps for the fans... Pretty sure a lot of fans and pundits were on the Rams bandwagon after going 7-9 from 1-15 with a young QB and new HC... Rams could have just as easily won 4 games that year... And to me the same for 2017 relatively speaking... Its been a long time since I saw "everything" go right for the Rams as it did last year. And the relative lack of injuries was pretty amazing. Add that to Goff having an inordinate amount of time to throw and then the propensity for a WR to be wide open is all a credit to McVay and Kromer. Can they do it again? Or will the game slow down for Goff?
My take is the 14-2 stuff is laughable. But I think the Rams are a legit 10 win team and if everything goes right they could win 14. But pundits and fans loved the Rams in 2011 and they won 2 games IMO due in part to hiring McDaniels as the OC. Anyway, if the Rams had a tough year tI could see them winning 8 games... which in the NFL happens. 14-2 if you base it off of 2017 and factor in FA's I can see how it can get fans and pundits excited... personally I would take that with a grain of salt.
And don't get me wrong. I am not comparing the 2017 Rams to the 2010 Rams... just the "hop on the bandwagon" stuff. Its different IMO because of McVay and Wilson and a good strong veteran core. So I seriously doubt they implode like 2011 where they lose 5 more games than 2010. The 2018 Rams could be a better team than 2017 and not make the playoffs.
