I thought the 1990 team was loaded for bear too. I walked into a casino in Las Vegas that summer (shy of my 19th birthday mind you...) and put my first ever bet down on the Rams- to win the Super Bowl. I remember thinking later in the '90s that doing that had cursed them and I have never wagered a nickel on them again since.
That was a frustrating year. Had some close losses and some ugly ones (MNF @PIT). I went to the week 3 game in Anaheim vs. Philadelphia. They got to 5-7 and had a chance to salvage a .500 season late but lost 4 straight division games to end the year. In the end they were probably one of the 7 or so worst teams in the league that year. And they couldn't use injuries as an excuse at all. Only Fred Strickland and Darryl Henley missed any significant time that year.
