What percentage of picks drafted in the late 3rd round or later started for their teams as a rookie of the past 10 years?
Notice that a lot of people are not talking about rookie starters as much as future starters.
The Rams draft included a lot of developmental picks this year. This is future depth and for the guys who will start, future starters.
I think there is only 1 decent bet to start in 2018 and that's Kiser. That's not a hard prediction though.
..
And I responded to that as well. Did you notice that I said getting 3 starters long term is possible but optimistic?
I was respectfully responding to the original question.
But the bottom line here is clearly that this is not a draft that is gonna provide immediate impact this season beyond depth and occasional fill ins when a starter gets hurt.
This is an investment draft, just hope we hit on a few of these guys long term. The only pick that I have difficulty with is the Allen pick. He's just too darn small for my taste.
My bet is they hit on 4 future starters. And a few depth/rotation guys.
I am one of those who is saying this draft is better than it might initially appear.
But it's not an A-list draft with A-list future starters. These are mostly role players who fill needs and provide a good middle class for a team that already has its share of stars.
