Armstrong, Key, Turay... or if by miracle Carter still around. All these guys are big, strong, fast and have some issue with them hence they didnt go 1st or 2nd round. But id be happy with any of them in the 3rd except Key who i take a risk on a bit later.
I hadn't seen that previously reported.
But it's been confirmed here:
nfl-los-angeles-rams-kemoko-turay-visit-draft-prospect/He's also got elite athleticism.
Another nice prospect. But as good as his measurables are . . . . and they are really, really good . . . Sweat and Carter best him by a considerable amount.
Of course, it goes without saying that what counts is what they do
on the field. Testing numbers don't always translate to Saturdays or Sundays, etc. We've all seen that plenty of times. Workout warriors, etc. etc. . . .
The ideal is to get both. A kid with eye-popping testing who brings it all during each game. That's rare. Very, very rare.
They both best him by a considerable amount in 40 time. But that may not even be the most important metric for edge defenders.
The agility metrics are just as important and personally I think they are more important.
Turay had a 6.81 3 cone time. That's super elite. He had a 4.25 short shuttle which is also very good.
Sweat had 6.95 3 cone and 4.28 short shuttle.
Carter chose not to run those drills which is always telling. If those numbers were going to match his super elite 40 time, he would have run them.
Vert and broad are pretty good for testing explosion. Sweat has much better numbers there. Carter's are better than Turay's, but not as good as Sweat's.
Regardless . . . we both know what they do on the field is what counts. And I'm guessing Sweat, Carter and Turay would all be very good for the Rams D.
