it's ok to disagree on evaluations. Nobody ever is 100%.
I've gone out on a limb...and you have...by saying Everett is not as advertised.
I just look at how a guy plays in his first year. I watched all these other Rams rookies make plays. I don't recall one outstanding play by Everett. When he caught passes, he typically was wide open. I recall one play...I think it was against the Giants...but it was an easy catch. And he couldn't beat out Higbee who leaves tons to be desired...unless you want 5 yards and a cloud of dust. By the way, to Higbee's defense he made a few nice plays last year.
Where we may end up being wrong...was the problem Goff? I don't think so.
Everett, for me, didn't pass the eye ball test. This TE is the hardest position commentary is just an excuse to me. If the position is so hard to learn, then why did Engram star for the Giants? If the position is so hard to learn, did we evaluate the intelligence of Everett? Just asking...
I wonder how far Durham Smythe falls...the kid from Notre Dame...6'5" 255...good Senior Bowl...chosen as team Captain at Senior Bowl...intelligent. He showed nice hands and route running at the combine.
