They Rams have what they have, which is 3rd-6th round picks. But for
interior OL that's actually a pretty good spot to be in.
Last year only 3 interior OL (Lamp, Pocic, Feeney) went off the board in the top 87 picks. And only two more came off in the top 125.
In 2016 7 interior OL went off the board in the top 87 and 10 in the top 125.
In 2015 8 went in the top 87 and 11 in the top 125.
That's a three-year average of 6 in the top 87 and 9 in the top 125. So if you're looking at the top 5-10 centers/guards in this Draft there is every reason to think the Rams could get one of them if not at #87 then at #111 (or moving up from 135).
And whoever they draft they are not looking to start. Like John Sullivan, who did not start a game as a rookie, they want someone with the talent to provide some immediate quality depth while developing into a 2019 starter.
When you get into the 3rd and 4th rounds obviously everyone is risky and nothing is for sure. But when you talk about getting interior OL in those rounds that's actually where you can land some of the best players at their positions.
