We got a year of Watkins and will get a a 3rd round comp pick for traded a 4th string corner and a 2nd rounder. We had a year to evaluate Sammy and decided he wasn't worth the money KC was paying so we lost him. Watkins helped us win last year.
Considering all the factors it wasn't a terrible trade and he downside risk wasn't that much. Great trade no but certainly not a big loss either. Also consider there was an great upside if things really clicked. I think it was worth the shot for the gold but it just didn't work out. Snead did a good job of hedging on the downside.
