well for one, the #23 is lot better than #32....I dont know why everyone forgets to mention this. That is a huge difference.
On the other hand, the 3rd/4th rd picks does not move the needle for me. We get the Pats 4th rd pick which is at the bottom of the rd. i think NO & NE swapped a 3rd for a 4th in the deal, not much of a difference.
So yeah, I would say that NE got one good not great year out of Cooks and spun him for a better pick a year later, that is a win in most any book.

We need to wait at least a year or 2 just like every trade involving picks.
So far the Saints got Ramczyk, a great OT pick, the Rams got Cooks, and the PATS got 23rd pick TBD.
It’s quite possible that the Pats crapout on the pick and the end up the big loser. Right now it’s all conjecture by talking heads.
