Greatly appreciate the work. This is awesome!
This post brings up a couple of questions. What did you have as the final needs priority list? OLB, ILB, OT, IL, TE, RB, S - The board talked me into moving up OT. It makes sense, I prefer to fix LT next year in the 1st round, but I asked for the boards help so I listened.
You mentioned that depth of class is factored in. How? If I have two high needs spots (OT and ILB ) and I know according to my stacked board the ILBers will get thin later, I will slide an ILB above a very closely ranked OT in that case.
Once stacked liked this, do you just go by whichever name is at the top of the list when our turn comes up? Correct, according to everything I have read, this is supposed to (in theory) remove emotion and arguments from the war room.
Scenario: if we're up at 87 or 111, Josey Jewell and Okoronkwo are available, but we know that ILB are available later and edge guys are likely to go fast, what do you do? Jewell is ranked four slots higher. I take Jewell or I trade back.
Lastly, have you identified talent groupings or lines in which there are clear separations between a players talent level and when it's our turn to select it doesn't matter which name is picked as long as it's in the same talent tier? Or does it not work like that? It works like that to some extent, if they don't feel like they are getting good value its time to trade down, or if a guy they really like is sliding they may trade up to go after him. I left out break points because the Rams are going to move around. So my breakpoints would be moot. I would use my notes and the bigboard to find what round each prospect is in. So it all works in unison.
EDIT: I think you answered my question in your post above. I read it too quickly. It sounds like you just take the name that is highest on the board.
