moreover if you read between the lines their actions indicate as such.
1. they were more worried about a deep threat wr then a lb (outside or inside) hence the trade for cooks over say landry in the draft
2. why sign suh if you feel a strong need for lbs? they could have went after murphy AND gallette for the price of suh.
3. finally looking at the current roster, my guess is they go OT before LB in the draft. there are exactly 0 tackles currently on the roster behind whitworth and havenstein. im not sure we can afford to expose goff to a 6th round OT should one of these guys get hurt for an extended period of time. not saying we cant use more LBs but id rather give up the occasional td then get my franchise qb killed.
Maybe they go OT first, there is definitely a big need for that.
Personally, I'm still hoping for LB before OT because I don't have much trust in 3rd round or later OT amounting to much but I do believe a productive LB - possibly even better than Ebukam - can be found in that range. Secondly, I think Saffold will cover the OT spots in a pinch if necessary.
And I think the chances are relatively high of finding good interior OL depth in the later rounds to stand in for Saffold.
