Yes I was at that game .
Sammy had a very good game except for the one play he failed to adjust for the ball that was a tad short ,then tipped it into the Saints defender for an Interview.
I watched some of it and focused on him.
His arm and hand use on defender against press coverage early is very strong .
He might be the strongest receiver in that way we've had in years.
Then contested balls he wins very consistently in intermediate areas .
He a great play along the sidelines for evidence in that game and McVay came to him immediately after the play to congratulate him .
I think he had a mix of Antwan Boldin strength as a bigger part of his game than people recognize.
That intermediate play down the sideline and the digs and drag routes were definitely underutilized last year.
Forget the deep balls he had more to offer.
I don't know if theres a tough WR with hand fight or strength at snap in this draft but I'd want the next guy up whoever he is to have a strong release against press as a replication of some of what Sammy brought to the offence last year.
That would be a start.
