Rams were trailing or tied 7 times at the start of the 4th quarter and lost all of them except 1 which was a tie going into the 4th quarter.
When you look at the Rams numbers, the Rams seemed to be the most dominant team in the NFL, but when you basically can't win if you are trailing at the start of the 4th quarter, you put yourself in a lesser playoff situation. The Eagles game was the superbowl game. Have a hurry-up offense and the Rams win that game instead of the Eagles and the playoff seating changes and the Rams win the superbowl. I have never seen a team so well prepared and so good overall be so horrific in one aspect. That drive where the Rams piddled around late in the game and did nothing and chewed up the remaining time on the clock was the killer. In fact, they almost got a delay of game penalty. That was the season, right there. As great of a coach as McVay is, he has to fix it and get Goff ready to run late in the game without him telling him everything he needs to do. You have to be able to come back and win a big game and Goff and McVay cannot do it as of now.
1) Losing against Washington 20-17 and lose 27-20.
2) Losing against Seattle 13-10 and lose 16-10.
3) Tie against Vikings 7-7 and lose 24-7. Once the Rams fell behind it was a complete debacle.
4) Losing against eagles 31-28 and lose 43-35. This was the worst one of all setting back football 30+ years with using the entire playclock trailing late in game.
5) Tie 20-20 against Tennessee and win 27-23
6) Losing 27-6 against 49ers and lose 34-13.
7) Losing 19-10 against Falcons and lose 26-13.
