Imagine his knee going in week one. Suddenly all bets are off.
And who knows if his play will stay at the same standard at his age,
A tackle at 23, or asap afterwards, would be a very smart move.
This has been said endlessly but yes...draft LOT...but only if one is there.
Otherwise they're going to have to make do with a scraped together replacement. That could be a rookie, a guy they already have, a "ronin" pick-up....maybe they move Saffold out (which still weakens the OL).
PLUS not only are both AW and Sullivan older players moving toward the end of their careers, but all 3 of the others (RS, Brown, Hav) are FAs after the season.
And I would say that so far we cannot count on them already having anyone on hand who is either an in-season replacement or a future starter. Blythe is a good back-up coming off the bench but I don't see him as a starter. Too limited.
They need OL in general and a left OT sooner rather than later. They can get centers, guards, and right tackles after round 2 but they won't get a starting LOT after round 2 (or at least the odds are heavily against it). So if there is no LOT at pick 23 worthy of that pick, and they pass on LOT as a result, it's for sure a 2019 priority.
