LA RAMS AGREE TO TERMS WITH DT NDAMUKONG SUH

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to terms with All-Pro DT Ndamukong Suh on a 1-year contract, the team announced today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We are excited have Ndamukong as a part of the Los Angeles Rams,” said General Manager Les Snead. “He’s been an outstanding player in this league and we are looking forward to him being a part of our defense.”

Prior to joining Los Angeles, Suh signed with the Miami Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent in 2015. In three seasons with the Dolphins (2015-17), Suh started all 48 games and totaled 181 tackles (109 solo), 15.5 sacks, 13 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Miami honored him with the team’s Most Valuable Player award at the end of the 2017 season.

The former Nebraska standout was originally drafted No. 2 overall by the Detroit Lions in 2010. After the conclusion of his first NFL season, he received NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, first-team NFL All-Pro recognition, and his first of five career Pro Bowl nominations (2010, 2012-14, 2016). Over the course of his career, Suh was named either a first-team or second-team All-Pro five times (First-Team: 2010, 2013, 2014; Second-Team: 2012, 2016).

Since entering the NFL as a first-round selection, Suh leads all interior defensive linemen with 55.0 stuffs (defined as any tackle of a ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage during a rushing attempt) and is second among all defensive tackles in sacks (51.5). After topping the 400 career tackle mark last season, he is second among all defensive tackles with 418 total tackles and his total is fourth among all defensive linemen since 2010. Suh also finished among the top five in total tackles by an NFL interior defensive linemen for three-straight seasons (2014-16).

Through eight NFL seasons, he has started all 126 games he’s played and amassed 418 tackles (288 solo), 147 QB hits, 103 tackles for loss, 51.5 sacks, forced four fumbles and recorded an interception.
