BTW...People are going to have to looking at total dollars and dollars only on contracts. I keep reading "this guy is getting $XXX per year." It means little. Contract structure is more important than the total dollars...signing bonus, guarantees, tag limitations, etc.
There are posters here that are VERY good with the cap when the goal is to figure out the structure of the contract.
But for purposes of looking at the yearly salary of a certain position group, even though its not ALL guaranteed its a benchmark..
When I do it the point is not to get into the details of who has the best contract, but a comparative analysis on the yearly number.
I'm sure if you googled "top paid receivers in the NFL" they would list the yearly figure as well.
Everybody here knows contracts are structured differently.
