Nobody ever said there were no tax ramifications in CA.
What was actually said is it does NOT deter players from wanting to play in CA.
Have you ever seen an NFL players tax returns? I'm gonna say NO
Travel (To and from work)
Any continuing education costs
Professional fees i.e., personal trainers
Any athletic equipment for training
Business meals
Union dues
Stadium fee
Meetings
Work related computer expenses
Investment advisory
Tax preparation
That's ALL the deductions they can take. IF they have a good CPA they can recoup some of the 13.3% in tax back.
No player says "I'm not playing in CA because of the tax rate".
Unless you know one who has??
