I've commented before that Phillips doesn't typically invest much resources into the ILB position.
In several instances since 2004, he's picked up very inexpensive, short term options. Randall Godfrey, Zach Thomas, Keith Brooking, Bradie James, Joe Mays. None of have been considered high profile signings, all were for only one year with the exception of Brooking.
He also rarely drafts the ILB position. He's only done it three times in a span when there has been 48 defensive picks. None were 1st round picks.
Per PFF here is how Wilson grades:
2017 - 42.9
2016 - 83.7
According to Chief's board, he played MIKE LB in 2016 and moved to MO in 2017. Maybe that explains the drastic difference in grades. If so that bodes well for us b/c he's likely to play in AO's old spot.
My guess: they won't pick up another free agent ILB, they won't draft an ILB early, they may draft one late - 4th round or later. 75% chance that Ramik Wilson is our starter.
Or, Littleton, and Wilson is depth. They could also draft a guy late. It's not unheard of to land a solid LB in round 6.
