It ought to be clear that Snead is on a mission of trying to replace good players with great players.
He replaced TruJ, a good player, with Marcus Peters, a great player.
He replaced Webster, a good player, with Talib, a great player.
And now he's angling to replace a group of average NTs with a great DT.
Frankly (not at all meaning to restart a hot debate), I think from his perspective the reason he wouldn't match the huge offer Watkins got is because while he sees Watkins as a good player, he does not see him as a great player. Good players with average production can be replaced. Great players with elite production are very hard to acquire or replace.
Just as a player of Peters class rarely becomes available; so does a player of Suh's class rarely become available.
I don't know if the Rams can land Suh or not. But it won't be for the lack of trying.
Remember: Snead is a self-proclaimed "swing for the fences" kind of guy. And clearly he has the backing of Demhoff and Kroenke in his mindset. So we'll soon see if he hits a homer, or strikes out.
