After the Fisher era, I'm sure Les is sick and tired of being told what to do. Coaches don't draft, G.M.'s do.
That;s not the way the Rams are set up.
He wasn't "told what to do" before.
He isn't telling anyone what to do now.
Snead, like many others including Armey with Vermeil, is NOT an overlord type GM who makes things according to his own vision, the way for example Polian did.
He is a collaborator GM. He finds the kinds of players the coaches need to fit their systems. They then stack the board collaboratively as a group (coaches and personnel people) and stick to the board on draft day.
That's the way it worked with Fisher and that's the way it's working now.
I should add that this take on things is based on being familiar with all the evidence that is out there about the Rams draft process over the last few years, and it's a lot.
I notice that alternative views are generally based on nothing whatsoever.
Just an observation.
