Because they are “if we don’t sign FA’s or extend our current players” dollars.
In the real world, the Rams have many, many players that will require huge bites out of those cap dollars that are now on paper. Almost everywhere you look, actually.
In fact, when the time comes, they will find themselves forced to pick and choose just which players they can retain. Like every other year. Just the way it is.
Not that it’s not a great thing to have the freedom and flexibility that cap strapped teams always lack.
