Some people act like it was just something that happens and the pick was ok because he graded high by the so called experts.
But the guy played in a limited system in college where he just bullied opponents that were smaller than him. He gets to the pros and everybody is like him and he has to be a player.
To boot, you better be sure on a pick that isn't somebody that touches the ball or rushes the passer if it is a top 5 pick.
And lastly, never pick a developmental player. NFL (Not for Long). You pick top 5 and that player needs to produce right away. You don't pick players to develop them for the 2nd contract on another team.
It was a bad pick period and I be saying that even if it worked out and he developed into a player in his 4th season. The Rams missed the playoffs largely because of the robinson pick in many of those years, and of course, the novice offensive system that Fisher brought into the team.
Well said .
I don't think he had an aggressive enough mentality , and not much of student assignment wise either.
.....
I do think his best position would have been RG .
Maybe the light would have come on if they just deiseled him straight ahead and ran behind him.
Problem is they have shift quite a few around to find a spot to make his game work .
That was a issue.
