to negate the 3rd or 4th round comp picks....right?
Cuz, right now those 2 contracts are quite large avging 16m/yr for both Sammy & Tru...that's a lot of money....
we could get 2- 3rd rounders next year if we lay low...cuz trades are not built into the calculation...nor re-signing yer own players...right?
I have to think the Rams will purposefully try hard not sign a player this FA (unless it's a perfect fit/price, etc) cuz it'd be like trading those players and getting 2 extra 3rd rounders - one for each player...
which would soften the blow of losing them.
THAT...is serious draft capital to tack onto the 2019 draft now that we don't have a 2nd rounder for the Peters trade.
