Sorry to see him go.
And there is nothing wrong with wanting a situation where he wants to be "the man". There are certain guys whose personalities and goals demand that.
But that would NEVER work on the Rams.
The Rams under McVay are going to spread the ball around. We may never see a 1000 yard WR on the Rams; or if we do, it won't be much past 1000 yards.
For the time being "the man" on the Rams is Gurley. You can't have two of "the man".
Not down on Sammy at all. He went to a situation he wanted and made top dollar and got a relatively short contract so that he can have yet another bite at the apple at age 27.
But kudos to the Rams for being wise enough not to throw money at Sammy knowing he wouldn't be worth it in the Rams system. OR.....to recoup the loss of EJ Gaines and a 2nd round pick.
Rams just need to move on. I agreed with Les making that trade when he did; and with refusing to give Sammy $16 mil per year now.
Nobody could have ever dreamed of the success the Rams would have had last year such that suddenly the Rams have top tier FA players other teams want, and offensive coaches other teams want.
This is the price of success.
Now it's up to McVay and Snead to fill the void.
