Aaron Donald is by far the most dominant, effective and influential player on this team...more so than Goff, more so than anyone.
You build team around these players...well...quality organizations build around these players.
Loser organizations find ways to lose players and lose for decades. They also blow top picks...you know...like we have. We received a treasure trove from the RGIII trade and what's left? Getting 2 #1's is a crap shoot. Aaron Donald is guaranteed great. I would go as far as saying that the 2 #'1 you get wouldn't equate to the benefit of having Aaron Donald. He is worth 2 players any day of the week.
This is a once in a lifetime talent...he's Reggie White, Bruce Smith, better than Warren Sapp...
Once again...I've heard how brilliant Demoff is with the cap. Yet...I have seen zero evidence of it. Teams struggling with the cap typically have a large QB cap allotment...we don't...and we can't do squat. And now we have to blame "Louie" Pastoor for the inability to get our guys signed.
My opinion...Goff can be had for another 5 years with options picked up and tagging. Sign, seal and deliver the HOF tackle and keep your options open on a QB who hasn't shown HOF talent. In three years, Aaron Donald's salary will be more manageable within the cap.
