I think a GM when stacking his board for the 1st round, ought to include some positions and leave others off (in general).
Why? Value and long term outcomes.
For me, in the 1st round (other, perhaps, than picks 30 - 32 which are nearly 2nd round) I would ONLY consider: QB, LT, CB, Dline or Edge rusher OLB.
I would NOT take a RB, TE, ILB, S, or Olineman (other than LT).
Now I don't mean this to be absolute in that there could NEVER be a case where I might consider one these in the first round.
As for this year: I think that Les will only consider OLB edge rusher, LT or MAYBE TE (but I doubt it). If he can't get OLB or a potential Whitworth replacement, he'll try to trade down and out of the 1st round.
