I completely understand your position.
On the other hand, Wade knows this guy inside and out.
And Talib has made no bones about how he loved playing for Wade.
As many have said: there are reasons why great players hit the FA market because normally they don't. And the reasons will inevitably be negative ones.
So, there is risk.
But there is also a higher likelihood of reward in both the Peters and Talib signings (at least in the Rams' eyes).
Clearly these guys love playing football.
They are hard workers and diligent at their craft (they're not lazy and sloppy).
They have proven what great players they are for multiple years.
And neither is getting more money. Money simply isn't involved as far as they're concerned. Rams are merely going to pay them exactly the same as if they weren't traded at all.
But, they are both getting a change of scenery and an opportunity to wipe some of the smudges off their slate if they want to.
Will they? Don't know for sure. But I think the needle is pointing up.
Neither have complained about going to LA. They both seem to relish working for Wade, a young hip HC, and going to a successful dynamic young team that seems to have a bright, immediate, future.
