First, let me say I like Ogletree and am quite shocked about this trade.
However, clearly the coaching staff saw Ogletree as too big of a detriment in the run game.
The players' reaction is NOT production based, it is relationship based. He was a popular player in the locker room.
Perfect response. The Rams gave him a contract that he would never get on the open market. They did take away his options. I can see why the players would feel that's shady, especially when the Rams insinuated that it was pre meditated. But at the end of the day they have to know that in trading him the other important guys will get paid.
