I'm saying it's about as much as we can expect. Rams don't have a great bargaining position. They need to move on from Ogletree, he has a pretty hefty salary that someone needs to take on, and so you have to discount the player to move him.
I'm saying that the Giants got a pretty good deal; but the Rams had the choice of keeping him, cutting him and getting nothing, or trading him and getting something. Apparently keeping him was not something Wade wanted to do.
I've always maintained that fans always want to give up too little in the way of compensation to pick up a player, and want too much in return to trade away a player, than what is realistic.
The Ogletree trade was probably realistic, especially because the goal was to unload salary.
