I actually agree with tagging Joyner. He had a great season last year ranking as one of the top safeties. Watkins had a pretty solid year but seldom looked like Jerry Rice. Woods was clearly our best WR and Cupp was our number two. Watkins is a terrific number 3, but if he wants to be paid like the top WR in the NFL, he really is at this point Not. Like almost all here I would love them to resign him as he is an important player. He does make tough catches. He scores. And he draws coverage away from the other guys. All important. So, I don't think it's one or the other. He's not the GOAT nor does he suck. He's an above average young good player at his position. I like him. But, if I was in the Rams' front office I would be playing it the same way. Negotiate a fair contract and hope he wants to be a part of a young promising team. Does he want to be the highest paid or be on a champion? With another whole season in McVay's system working with Goff, he would most likely have more and more targets. Maybe he emerges as a true #1. If so, nobody will stop us. It's up to him. I don't know. He didn't have a particularly strong playoff game vs the Falcons where he could've shown his worth
The Rams have a number they are willing to pay the man and I'm sure they'll offer it to him. If he leaves, that's on him not on management.
I'll cheer on the Rams regardless. If he wants me cheering for him he'll stay. And that's worth so much more than money.
