I keep hearing this mantra of Watkins being one of the best WRs in football, but I sure don't hear it from the players or the GMs.
What evidence is there that he is "one of the best Receivers in football'?
Don't get me wrong. I like Sammy, and hope he remains a Ram.
But that doesn't make him a great WR.
I sure don't think the Rams should have Tagged Watkins. With only one tag the obvious choice was Joyner.
I'm not even sure Watkins is all that anxious to play for the Rams in McVay's spread it around offense. Nothing wrong with that. Some of the other offenses prefer to focus on one or two WRs who need to be "the man".
