It wasn’t just about his salary, je.
For example, Quinn should fit nicely into Miami’s 4-3 D.
He was a bit of a square peg in round hole proposition in Wade’s D. Plus the salary and the health questions.
This looks like a win-win trade for all parties.
The lack of scheme fit is severely overblown IMO. If Quinn didn't have a large salary, this move wouldn't have happened.
It could be a win for the Rams if he continues to have health problems. As you said elsewhere, the Rams know his medicals better than anyone. So we'll see if they're right.
But this move is a big risk for the Rams. If the Quinn who got 6 sacks in the last 5 weeks - in a supposedly square peg, round hole scheme fit mind you - is the norm now, the Rams will regret this move in the future.
Double digit sack guys, who are among the league leaders in QB pressures, are NOT easy to replace.
As you know, dz, there’s more to playing top drawer OLB in Wade’s D than just sack totals.
I guess we disagree on Quinn’s overall prowess in this D.
I predict that he will have a fine year for the Dolphins. And I further predict that our future Quinn replacement will be an overall upgrade.
A win-win for all parties, as I said.
