Had to look this up:
WA 13th pick in 1st for Rams' 23rd
CT is 27 yrs old, suffered a broken leg in Dec
Chris Thompson (broken leg) said he will be ready for training camp.
Thompson had surgery to repair a broken right fibula in early December. He was given a four-to-six month timetable after the procedure, which makes him questionable for the offseason program but a near lock to be ready for training camp. Washington has questions on early downs, but Thompson is locked in as the passing-down back.
WA 2nd round pick is 12th in 2nd round.
So the Rams would need to draft a WR or TE to make plays that Sammy could. Not in their rookies season, they won't. They'd need a Torry Holt to make it worthwhile and I do't see that happening. As appealing as those picks are, I would not make that trade.
There's another one problem. Sammy needs to sign a contract in order to be traded. Why would he limit himself to only the WA Redskins instead of testing free agency?
The Rams could franchise him but he still needs to sign before he can be traded.
