there was a longer post...but it's no longer up. But think of it this way, Rams fans loved Fletcher, he saw how good he was, but he was not a household name outside of St.Louis. We overrated him, even you thought he was a Pro Bowler when he was not.

So, when I picked that example I picked one that was as similar as I could think of. And part of my reasoning for picking Fletcher is because he was a very good player, one who I thought was top notch. I feel the same about Watkins. I was fully aware that neither had been stars, neither had been Pro Bowlers.

However, it was your opinion that I used a false premise "Flawed premise, B&G."

So, I think it was fair for me to point that out. I mean, it was a major part of your point, that Fletcher was considered better than Watkins because he was a more accomplished player. That wasn't the case.

Now, in terms of the "5 receivers" on any snap...well, that's novel, but there is only 1 X on any snap. All the positions are not as interchangeable you may think. There is one MLB, and one SAM and one WILL...all are important.

So, I think my analogy is pretty good. It compares two very good players who fit well in our system. When Fletcher left, he left after 2001, and that defense had several stars, Williams, Wistrom and Little as a DPR, and some up and comers but it was not like Fletcher was Ray Lewis, where he was the key to the defense.

Now, IMO, comparing Woods and Watkins is not fair to Woods. He pales in comparison. He's good but he benefitted from the scheme more than Watkins did. The O is not all about Watkins, but it is partly about an X receiver who can open things up by beating good coverage and getting deep and here is the ever-loving point, that does not grew on trees and right now we have a London Fletcher and you and some others want to sign Jamie Duncan to save some money because you look at a stat line that does not show a lot of catches and yards.

That is the same mistake that was made with Fletcher and I hope Snemoff are smarter than that
