because when the Rams were bad at WR the last decade, they had a losing season every year.
The Rams improve at WR and the team is in the playoffs.
While Watkins was a disappointment, he at least poses a threat and helps the other receivers and there needs to be no dropoff.
Either sign Watkins or go draft somebody in 1st round or trade for somebody. The hodge podge of players on the roster will be a significant dropoff at WR if Watkins is not replaced adequately.
The rooster crows every morning at sunrise, 81. That doesn’t mean that the rooster CAUSED the sun to rise. Lol.
Here’s a summary of changes to our passing O last year vs the Fisher version:
McVay
LaFleur
Olsen
Goff’s 2nd year
Woods
Watkins
Kupp
Higbee (vs Kendrick’s)
Gurley unleashed
OL transformed
Let’s see...
That’s 10 substantial improvement factors last offseason, of which Watkins was but one. In fact, Watkins became our 4th most productive receiver.
Sooooo...
Why should we consider Watkins the be all and end all for our passing O? Seriously?
