but never had the MVP type of year. It appears the selection is more about how good were you at your highest point versus were you really good for many many years
Bruce like #3 all time in receiving yards I believe.
But even in that superbowl year, I believe Bruce was the guy in the big moments. The 4 TDs to break down the 49ers stranglehold.
The first play of the playoffs TD and the last play of the superbowl on offense TD. I believe that the TD catch in the superbowl had interception written all over it if Bruce hadn't played it so well. He didn't tip it off that the pass was underthrown and made the adjustment at the perfect moment and what would have been a game ending interception turned into a game winning touchdown.
He had the numbers too in that superbowl year.
Plus, Bruce was great on bad teams when he had very little help and he was great on great teams when he had to share the touches.
