I actually think he power and hands make him more valuable as a short passing game type player.
I would try to use him more like Cardinals user Fitzgerald.
I would add the Fitzgerald routes as part of what he provides but I wouldn't switch his role to only that. It's definitely in his skill set though.
I think he'd make us lethal on 3rd down conversions if they did that though. Better option than Kupp and I like what Kupp provides.
Fitz was moved to the slot because he has lost a step due to time seved.
Fitz is 34 yrs old and was never fast to begin with but could get deep.
Sammy is 24 yrs old running a 4.4 forty and runs a lot of those inside routes now but his qb has to get him the ball.
