McVay:
HC and OC.
Phillips
Assistant HC and DC.
The way McVay is doing it, the defense is almost totally turned over to Wade. But McVay handles the offense top to bottom. I suspect that he's going to have to modify this in time because unless he gets a younger up and comer to be an OC-in-training as his "OC", few experienced guys are going to want to do the job because they don't get to call the plays.
But if I was a younger, sharp offensive mind, I'd drool over a job to be McVay's "OC" so I could pick that guy's brain for 3 or 4 years.
McVay's promotion of guys to be co-OC's who already have jobs.....and apparently will now hold dual jobs......says to me that he and they recognize that McVay is in charge of the offense, and they simply carry out his plan and instructions. Dual OC's do NOT mean that both are OCs. It means that NEITHER are really OCs. Wouldn't surprise me if this changes over the next few weeks and a new guy is brought in as "OC".
