Come on, really? I can name numerous QB's that made there living on their legs and had long careers. Fran Tarkenton, Roger Staubach, John Elway, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Randall McDaniel, etc. Russell Wilson is a good example of one today that has not been injured. Rolling outside of the tackle and being smart about taking shots as you are heading away from the tackle minimizes injury big time. Yes, I agree that running QB's like Cam Newton running up the middle is not a recipe for a long career but don't classify running QB's as having short careers on the whole.
