The playoffs are like that.
In a one game elimination, strange stuff happens (and I'm NOT saying that the Vikes "should" have won).
Further, it's about match-ups. The Rams, for instance, can be taken to the wire by a BAD Niners team early in the season, then turn around and beat Seattle twice including a blow-out in Seattle.
It seems that it was a bunch of bad match-ups for the Vikes vs. the Eagles.
The secondary injuries for the Vikes were a killer, as well.
And, Foles has a history of hitting big, or bombing out. Yesterday, he hit it big. Good for him. He seems to be a good guy.
But, let's not start anointing Foles (nor Keenum for that matter) as upper level NFL QBs. They both need to be on VERY good teams to do well. Although I'm not so sure that given the chance they couldn't be pretty good starters for the long term provided it wasn't on a crappy team. They are journeymen QBs, which isn't a bad thing. They'll be the QBs that do OK, but whose teams will always be trying to replace them.
If I was the Redskins, I'd be right in line to sign Keenum and let someone else pay Cousins $30 million per year. I suspect they could get Keenum for around $12 mil per year for a couple of years.
