$75,000 to an NFL team is less then pocket change and probably one of their smallest write offs and like laram said most of that is for their film work.
I’m sorry but just looking at who they have ranked higher then Goff I can’t help but think of the word “joke” ......actual stats like TDS, Ints , Yards, QB rating will tell you that let alone the eyeball test.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot of other rating sites for fans to use, so many will post them on here good or bad.
I will always take PFF ratings with a grain of salt.
Not sure what you mean by "film work" and not sure anyone does. Film marking software costs tons more than $75K a year, NFl teams use either XO FIlm or DV Sports to mark their films, that is not what they pay PFF for, in fact, it's likely that PFF uses DV or XO. Marking is what scout do to the film so that oklays can be sorted, so they can group all 3rd and longs or 1st and 5s together and they know what plays are used. The also can mark who made the tackle, who deflected the pass. Anyone who has those kinds of software can do that, NFL teams DO that. I happen to have one of those software programs on my laptop. I can customize it as in depth as I want. It's the software that does the work, but a smart person can use the Marking software but the output, the point of the marking is to get player grades. And that is what is in the $75K silver package. If a team wants more they can pay for more
Half the NFL teams play a scouting firn $500,000 a year for their grades. (Used to be A lot less, but it is going up). And you wouldn't like the grade they have on Goff either. But they have experience as NFL Coaches and players and have been getting paid by NFL teams since 1977, and yes Grappolo graded higher there, too . . . grades are not stats. Stats are not grades.
Look, the bottom line is you take PFF with a grain a salt, fine. That is your right. But that does not make THEM the joke.
