Suh's contract in 2015 was 6 yrs, 114+ M or 19+ M a year.
If you look at 2nd contracts for starters, they just plain regularly go up each year.
So not only is Donald better than Suh, by the time AD signs a deal (if he does it this off-season) it will be 3 years after Suh's deal.
We're probably talking something like 6 years, 138 M, or 23 M a year.. and there's a realistic chance it could be more. .
So according to the way the market works on this, If you offer Donald Suh money or Fletcher Cox money at this point, you're lowballing him.
To give a glimpse of how 2nd contracts work, look at qbs. In 2015 Cam Newton signed an extension that averages out to 20.7 M a year. In 2017 Derek Carr signed a 2nd contract for on avg. 25 M a year. Any starting qb who signs a 2nd contract in 2018 will likely get more than 25 M.
