When I moved here in 2002, I spent 3 months looking for a home with a sizable lot. There were areas around Dallas that I said I wouldn't move because there were no big yards. Well...I found out...in general, most all Dallas area homes are on small lots. They say everything is big in Texas. That's not true. Lot sizes are not big. I saw Troy Aikman built a 10,000 sq. ft. home what was basically a zero lot line.
Philips home is in an area of Dallas called Preston Hollow. Other Preston Hollow residents...Mark Cuban, George W. Bush, Jordan Spieth...you get the picture.
This home is actually on the low end. There was one home that was on the market for $65 million. Now, we know that California is in another stratosphere, but ol' Wade will not have a lot of problems selling this home. With oil being exported at record levels and significant shale deposits being found, there are a lot of people with a lot of money. The per barrel cost that is targeted in Texas is about $45 a barrel or higher. Once it gets below $45, it becomes increasing difficult to make money. That's when they start capping the wells. However, they are becoming more and more efficient and that number could continue to drop.
