Rams had trouble running against the Falcon? Dude might want to watch the game again. Gurley had 14 carries for 101 yards.
Problem was the Rams just didn't have enough opportunities. Falcons best defense was Ryan, Freeman and Coleman keeping Goff and Co. On the sidelines. Not their 3-4 scheme
Rams only had TWO possessions in the second half (punt, FG) by the time they got their third possession of the 2nd half they were down 26-13 with 5:49 left in the GAME. That's crazy!!!
Start of the 4th Quarter--
(14:16) 30-T.Gurley left tackle to LA 47 for
14 yards (45-D.Jones).
(13:37) 30-T.Gurley left tackle to ATL 20 for
33 yards (37-R.Allen).
He had 2 more carries after that for 11 yards. Up until the 4th quarter he had 10 carries for 43 yards.
It was tough going with the run up until those two big runs.
Not saying they shouldn't have run more....they should have.....but the overall rushing total/average is a little deceiving in evaluating the success of the run game.
Well that’s what rushing yards are.... they don’t discount the good runs and they don’t discount the ones he lost yards on either.
Like I said , credit the Falcons for keeping our offense off the field.... seems like we had the ball for about 7 minuets the entire second half.
