Martz didn't make Isaac better; Isaac made Martz better. Isaac was already world class.
Same with Faulk. Same with Pace and Timmerman (who already had Hanifan). Holt, impossible to say. Warner, impossible to say...but, Martz himself said that when he first arrived, he didn't want Warner as the #2 and DV insisted.
Martz's contribution to 99 was huge, as we know, but he also walked into an offensive meeting room full of talent.
In terms of this year's group...Woods was already good, he was just underutilized in Buffalo. To see this, all you have to do is look at RW's production with the Bills when Watkins was out. It nearly triples. A lot of people were saying Woods was a good one before he even entered OTAs. Gurley had it in him, but for a lot of reasons regressed in 2016. I think Kupp is a good rookie no matter where he goes. None of which takes anything away from McV, who both inherited talent and used it very effectively.
