Zuerlein was, in part, having a great year because we couldn't navigate the red zone effectively. You can see what a physical guy can do in the red zone for us...look at Watkins. He hasn't been big from 20 to 20 but he has been inside the red zone.
That big body...effective TE, that is the missing piece. Simply...my issues with Everett is he is not physical, he is short for a TE and he has the dropsies. I think Higbee has a better potential based on some good hands and his size. My issue with him is that he doesn't see to be able to get downfield. Maybe they assumed Everett was that downfield TE and Higbee was the move the chains type. I think we need a guy who can do it all. Can you imagine this offense with a guy like Ertz, Olsen, Kelce...or just 2/3's of them? If that's the case, your point about limited targets due to spreading the ball around becomes even more appropriate.
As for Goff's accuracy, I've been disappointed on many of his long throws coming up short. He needs to release the ball earlier.
